FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS, VISIT: This Month's THEMES FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK Shrehya Taneja of-the-villains-and-heroes-and-everything-in-between.html Life has shades of grey and hues of understanding tampered with that of misunderstanding and miscommunication, the heroes walking a mile like the villians and the so called villians doing a consistent role reversal. Shakespeare's dramas have always had a characteristic trope of the wise fool who attempts to intervene in the narratives of his play calling attention as a distant and neutral observer to the plot that unfolds be it in a tragedy, comedy or mystery here. This is an introductory teaser to the themes that form the crux of my maiden attempt. Click on the title to find out more WHEN YOU WERE BETRAYED... Click on the Poet's name to be a part of their magical creations! 1. Yukta Prasad the-giant-and-the-dwarf.html Yukta's introspective take on the role of an artist and their art in these difficult times: "In today's world, there are many unpredictable things happening. Reasons and meaning are just are drama as they are more than just are drama. Close emotion and beliefs do not hold enough worth but expression and art earn their worth. Everyone might not have enough luck. In such a world, can this small creative endeavor of mine be close to the divine?" Read her poem to find out. 2. RIDDHI DOSHI ESCAPE All of us at some point or other in life have to make a choice, whether to face the day or think about escaping. Riddhi tackles this dilemma through her insightful poem. In her words: "The world is filled with hypocrisy and contradictions. Sometimes, it might be the case we do not agree with everything going around us. We might want to just change the whole existence of the world. We might want to ESCAPE our everyday." OVERWHELMED IN LOVE Riddhi takes us on a breath taking journey of what it means to be in love causing all of us to ponder over this important and all consuming question. In her words: "There is a moment in the life of most people who are in love, a moment where they think - what if this all sugary feeling has a much negative impact on their lives. What if it is the only thing in our lives that is holding us back from becoming something better and more independent? That moment is when ideally self love should kick in our lives and help us break every shackles that exist". HEY YOU Looking back on life, there are many beautiful moments that we want to celebrate by reaching out to our younger versions and understanding the need to pause. In Riddhi's words, this poem is about- a girl who is grown up now is talking to her young self about their little joyous moments in life. TO THE MOON This is what Riddhi has to say about her poem: "The journey of a drop of water aspiring to be on the moon, is it as inspirational as it sounds? Find out yourself." For us, it is a magical conversation between a dreamer and the moon and a rendezvous in the night. Brace yourselves! 3. Art By Jahnavi Mehta her-and-his.html The warmth and wonder associated with the facet of love is explored anew through the eyes of our poet, Jahnavi. In her words: "Love is always the most beautiful feeling in life. Those who are in love are the luckiest when they are destined to be together. On the other side it is said that sometimes it's better to let someone go. How these two unaware about their love for each other dance on the tunes of their love for little time and let go each other.Because dance is an amazing form of expressing the love." peace.html Jahnavi's thought provoking stance is highlighted in this insightful poem on the dilemmas that we often face in life and our reactions to them. In her own words: "Each of our's heart craves for peace. It requires tranquility to sustain through all ups and downs. Not each and every situation requires reaction sometimes silence it the only way to deal with it. Silence is always more powerful than words. It's a way of telling everything without actually everything."
